Saint Joseph supports believers in many aspects of their lives. He has many designations: Guardian of the Pure in Heart, Hope of the Sick, Consolation of the Afflicted and Patron of the Dying. He is also known as a Model of Workers, Protector of the Church, Support of Families, and Terror of Demons.
Saint Joseph is, according to the New Testament, the husband of Mary and stepfather of Jesus. In the Old Testament, Joseph is Jacob’s eleventh son and Rachel’s first (Yossef ben-Yaakov in the Jewish Bible).
Saints are spiritual beings who have been tasked with maintaining this Earth, watching over the affairs of humanity and each has dominion over a portion of nature. Each Saint is identified with natural forces as well as with human interests or endeavors. These Saints are mediators between humanity and the Supreme Being.
