• A white piece of paper and pen
• Matches or a lighter
Instructions:
1. Prepare Your Space: Cleanse your space using sage, palo santo, or incense to remove stagnant or negative energy from the previous year. Place the candle at the center of your altar or a quiet space, surrounded by a circle of salt for extra protection.
2. Set Your Intention: On the piece of paper, write down areas of your life or specific things you want to protect, such as your home, relationships, health, or personal energy. Fold the paper three times away from you (symbolizing the pushing away of harm) and place it beneath the candle.
3. Light the Candle: As you light the Protection Candle, say aloud: “With this sacred flame, I invoke the shield of divine light. May all negativity and harm be deflected, and may I be surrounded by peace, safety, and clarity. This flame stands as my shield, guarding me and those I love.”
4. Visualize the Shield: Close your eyes and visualize a bright, protective light emanating from the candle’s flame. Imagine it forming a bubble of safety around you, your home, or the people you’re protecting. If you’re using a talisman, hold it in your hand and envision it absorbing the protective energy of the candle.
5. Affirm Your Protection: Repeat the following affirmation three times: “I am shielded by divine light. Negativity and harm cannot touch me. Peace and clarity surround me, and my energy is protected. So it is, and so it shall be.”
6. Seal the Ritual: Allow the candle to burn for a while as you meditate on your intentions. You can extinguish it and relight it daily until it burns completely. Keep the talisman or object with you, or place it in your home as a reminder of your protective energy.
